All-in-one vape detector

Halo can detect various chemicals including, vape, carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), total volatile organic compounds (TVOCs) and ammonia (NH3).

Yes. Although filtering through clothing can lower the levels of chemicals reaching Halo sensors, third-party testing has proven it’s still effective, even when vape is blown into a jacket.

Halo Smart Sensors features an optimal 8- to 12-foot (2.4- to 3.7‑meter) detection radius for vape, smoke, spoken keywords, and occupancy of up to nine people. Built-in audio sensors help capture incidents like gunshots up to 164 feet (50 meters) away, while health event detection extends across spaces up to 3,850 square feet (358 square meters). For best performance in identifying vaping or occupancy, install the sensor on ceilings at an 8‑foot (2.4‑meter) mounting height.

Yes. The Halo IoT Smart Sensor is a security device that is designed to respect privacy. It’s commonly used as a vape detector in school bathrooms and locker rooms, where traditional cameras can’t be installed. It is also a solution for dorm rooms, hospital rooms and hotel rooms to provide security and vape detection while maintaining privacy.

No, there is no minimum purchase quantity.

Halo is currently used as a school vape detector throughout the U.S. and they have uncovered many instances of vaping, smoking, vandalism and other harmful events.

Yes. Gunshot detection comes standard on all Halo Smart Sensors with no additional equipment or subscription required.

Each device provides acoustic gunshot detection across a 360-degree range of up to 164 feet (50 meters), depending on the building’s layout and acoustics.

The Halo is an intelligent sensor on the edge and works standalone. While the Halo Cloud is optional, it offers the capability to connect Halo devices together for enhanced features and management.

Yes. Halo is made of vandal-proof plastic and has an IK08 rating. Halo Smart Sensor also encompasses a tamper sensor to detect someone trying to damage it. If the tamper sensor is set, an alert can be sent out in the same manner as a vape alert, or as an option, Halo has a speaker and light that can be enabled to blink or sound an alarm if there is tampering.

Halo Smart Sensor is designed to be unobtrusive and stylish, making it easy to place in any room without drawing attention. Its compact, cylindrical shape is typically around 3 – 4 inches in diameter and about 2 – 3 inches tall. The front of the device features a perforated area for the air intake, allowing it to effectively detect airborne pollutants.

Prices may vary depending on the retailer, location and promotions. There are many security grants available that help cover Halo Smart Sensor costs for educational institutions and other facilities. Reach out to our sales team today for a no-obligation quote.

The LED-colored lighting options can be programmed for various alerts that can be triggered. Colors available are red, green, blue, yellow, violet, cyan and white. LED notifications can also be programmed for length and pattern. Providing a broad array of visual notification options.

Yes, the Halo Smart Sensor is now integrated into the Avigilon security ecosystem. This allows for site-specific, real-time threat alerts when integrated with video security solutions.

The total number of sensors depends on your building’s floor plan, ceiling heights, and air circulation. As a baseline, a single Halo Smart Sensor covers an area up to a 12-foot radius (approx. 450 sq. ft.) in spaces with standard 8 ft ceilings and normal ventilation.

Yes, the Halo Smart Sensor is designed to differentiate between various substances. Its algorithms are configured to minimize false alarms from body sprays and disinfectants, it can detect traditional cigarette smoke and other aerosols as specific events.

Halo provides discreet protection without capturing video. When triggered, it sends real-time alerts via SMS or email to authorized staff. Optionally, it can be programmed to flash its LED lights or sound an alarm if tampering is detected.

Halo uses a Dynamic Vape Detection algorithm to analyze the environment for chemicals and particles released during vaping. It can differentiate between smoking, vaping and even masking attempts like the use of perfumes or aerosols.
