Purchaser

Responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet manufacturing and customer requirements and maintain stock inventory levels within approved guidelines. Must be able to multi-task and communicate well, since this individual will have to work closely with Inside Sales, Engineering, Accounting and Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a strong positive rapport with all our vendors, and become the main contact for Avigilon Corporation and its vendors
  • Purchasing material for inventory and non-stock items to support manufacturing, customer orders and engineering
  • Generating, reviewing and releasing purchase orders to vendors
  • Communicate in a timely manner on inability to deliver on time to our customers
  • Monitoring Purchase Orders, ensuring delivery and confirming expected ship dates and updating system
  • Negotiation with vendors to maximize profitability.
  • Resolving discrepancies between purchase orders and suppliers’ invoices as required
  • Coordinating and executing quarterly and yearend inventory counts
  • Review reports for stock status and updating existing Purchase Orders accordingly
  • Coordination of defective material returns
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in Electronics Purchasing
  • Excellent communication and negotiations skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required
  • Experience working with MRP software in an manufacturing environment is a definite asset
  • Self motivated person who enjoys challenges and working in a fast-paced environment.
